Basketball Recap: International Gryphons vs. Anderson Prep Academy Jets

International and Anderson Prep Academy squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but International had to settle for second. They took a 73-67 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Anderson Prep Academy Jets. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Jets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 69-60 back in February.

Several Gryphons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Evan Johnson, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 11 assists. Johnson is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Peter Machado, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 14 rebounds.

Johnson wasn't the only one working in the assist department: International was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.
