Basketball Game Preview: Cripple Creek-Victor Pioneers vs. KIPP Denver Collegiate White Tigers

The Cripple Creek-Victor Pioneers and the KIPP Denver Collegiate White Tigers will compete for holiday cheer at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Cripple Creek-Victor will be strutting in after a win while KIPP Denver Collegiate will be coming in after a defeat.

Cripple Creek-Victor is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 49-20 victory over Colorado School for the Deaf Blind. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Pioneers have posted since January 6th.

Cripple Creek-Victor had a senior duo take command as Trevor Mirande almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds and Chase Lohmeier posted 11 points and seven steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mirande has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Reyes, who put up six points.

Cripple Creek-Victor was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, KIPP Denver Collegiate came up short against STEM School Highlands Ranch last Friday and fell 49-36. The White Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

KIPP Denver Collegiate now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Cripple Creek-Victor, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
