Baseball Recap: Century Comes Up Short

Century couldn't beat Preston on Tuesday even though they stacked five runs on them in the second inning. The Diamondbacks took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Indians. Surprisingly, this marked the Diamondbacks' fifth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Camdyn Renyolds and CJ Short did some serious damage despite the final result: Renyolds went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double, while Short went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Daeton Poulsen, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Century has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 13 of their last 17 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-17 record this season. As for Preston, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-10.

Century does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Preston, they will venture away from home to face off against Pocatello at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Thunder have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.21 runs per game on average), something the Indians will no doubt try to take advantage of.
