Basketball Recap: Jamir Muhammad Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Oak Mountain Academy

There's no place like home for Flint River Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 47-32 win over the Oak Mountain Academy Warriors on Monday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 54-38 last Friday.

Flint River Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jamir Muhammad out in front who posted 19 points and seven rebounds. Cole Riner was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Flint River Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 29 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Despite the loss, Oak Mountain Academy still got an impressive performance from Jeb Harper, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 17 boards. Another player making a difference was Mads Koelling, who scored nine points and eight rebounds.

Flint River Academy has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. As for Oak Mountain Academy, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-13.

Flint River Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 60-28 win against Lafayette Christian on the 4th. As for Oak Mountain Academy, they will square off against Georgia Force Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Georgia Force Christian will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Oak Mountain Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
