Basketball Game Preview: Chatsworth Chancellors vs. El Camino Real Royals

Chatsworth hasn't had much luck against El Camino Real recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Chatsworth Chancellors will venture away from home to challenge the El Camino Real Royals at 4:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Chatsworth is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Wednesday. They took a 49-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of Granada Hills Charter. While losing is never fun, the Chancellors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 695th, while the Highlanders are ranked 235th).

Meanwhile, El Camino Real also suffered a loss in their last game, but this one to Birmingham by a score of 66-53. The Royals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Chatsworth's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for El Camino Real, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-11.

Chatsworth skirted past El Camino Real 52-49 when the teams last played back in January of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Chatsworth since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
