Baseball Recap: Saturday's Victory Is Brother Rice's Ninth in Last Ten Outings

Brother Rice barely beat Seaholm the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Warriors' pitchers stepped up to hand the Maples an 11-0 shutout on Saturday. The Warriors have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Maples, too.

Brother Rice let Broder Katke and Cole VanAmeyde run wild. Katke went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run, while VanAmeyde went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Cash Van Ameyde, who earned one RBI, two runs, and two stolen bases.

Brother Rice was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .450. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matchups.

Brother Rice is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a massive bump to their 22-11-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Seaholm, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 21-11.
