Baseball Game Preview: Douglass Academy Lions vs. Community Health Academy

The Douglass Academy Lions will venture away from home to take on Community Health Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Douglass Academy's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Community Health Academy's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Last Monday, Douglass Academy got the win against Roosevelt by a conclusive 11-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lions.

Meanwhile, Community Health Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 6-3 to Baruch College. On the bright side, the three- run performance marked Community Health Academy's highest-scoring match to date.

Asdrubal Perez was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Perez was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. That hit marked the first that he has got this season.

Perez wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Chris Reynoso, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one RBI. That RBI was Reynoso's first of the season.

Community Health Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Douglass Academy, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Everything went Douglass Academy's way against Community Health Academy in their previous meeting back in March, as Douglass Academy made off with an 18-2 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
