Baseball Recap: Sugar Valley Rural Comes Up Short

Sugar Valley Rural lost against Shamokin Area back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Phoenix lost 8-1 to the Indians. The Phoenix have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Sugar Valley Rural saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brody Swanger, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI. Another was Conner Ohl, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run.

Sugar Valley Rural's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Shamokin Area, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-11.

Sugar Valley Rural does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Shamokin Area, they will take on Mount Carmel at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Indians' pitchers better be ready for this one: the RED TORNADOES have averaged an impressive 8.6 runs per game this season.
