Softball Game Preview: Campbellsville Eagles vs. Hart County Raiders

The Campbellsville Eagles will challenge the Hart County Raiders at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games Campbellsville has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Monday, Campbellsville narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Boyle County 7-5.

Riley Underwood made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off nine hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aubreigh Knifley, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lily Murphy, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Hart County fell victim to Larue County and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 6-0 to the Hawks. The Raiders have struggled against the Hawks recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Hart County's defeat dropped their record down to 10-16. As for Campbellsville, their win bumped their record up to 11-14.
