Baseball Game Preview: Grace Academy Lions vs. Westminster Catawba Christian Indians

The Grace Academy Lions will face off against the Westminster Catawba Christian Indians at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Grace Academy's offense. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pro Stock Royals Academy on Thursday. Surprisingly, this marked the Lions' third straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Grace Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nick Coccus, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Westminster Catawba Christian came up short against NorthPoint Christian Academy on Monday, falling 8-1.

Grace Academy's loss dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Westminster Catawba Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

Westminster Catawba Christian's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Grace Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .338. It's a different story for Westminster Catawba Christian, though, as they've only averaged .246. Will they be able to contain Grace Academy's hitters?

Grace Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against Westminster Catawba Christian in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, sneaking past 5-4. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Indians have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
