Basketball Recap: Pacelli Comes Up Short

Pacelli lost against Neillsville back in March of 2019 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Cardinals were beaten by the Warriors 71-27.

Neillsville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Landon Rakestraw led the charge by going 7-for-9 on his way to 18 points and four steals. Thanks to that strong game, Rakestraw now owns an excellent 46.5% shooting accuracy. Another player making a difference was Andrew Hoeser, who shot 75% from the field en route to 16 points and five steals.

Pacelli's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Neillsville, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.

Pacelli and Neillsville will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Cardinals are set to take on their familiar foe Wild Rose at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Neillsville will face off against rival Columbus Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
