Basketball Recap: Monday's Win Is Catholic Memorial's Seventh in Last Nine Outings

On Monday, the Catholic Memorial Crusaders sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 72-70 win over the Brown Deer Falcons. Given the Crusaders' advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 109th, while the Falcons are ranked 267th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Catholic Memorial has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.8 points over those games. Brown Deer is on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-15.
