Basketball Recap: Terry Sanford Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Terry Sanford can now relate to. The match between the Terry Sanford Bulldogs and the Western Alamance Warriors didn't end well, with the Terry Sanford Bulldogs falling 64-48. The Bulldogs' defeat signaled the end of their 13-game winning streak.

Despite the loss, Terry Sanford saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jaidiah Blake dropped a double-double with 22 points and ten rebounds. Blake is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down nine or more in each of the last four games she's played. Ameya Brown was another key player, putting up ten points.

Leading Western Alamance to victory were Tina Bowers and Allie Sykes. Bowers almost dropped a double-double with 24 points and nine rebounds, while Sykes shot 60% from the field en route to 28 points. That's the most points Bowers has posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Cayden White, who earned two points along with 16 boards and three blocks.

Terry Sanford's defeat dropped their record down to 27-4. As for Western Alamance, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 27-4.

As of now, neither Terry Sanford nor Western Alamance have any future games scheduled.
