Softball Recap: Marion Harding Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Marion Harding ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Madison Plains Golden Eagles 14-12. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Presidents have posted since April 30, 2024.

Rylee McKinniss was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Kameron Biederman, who got on base in four of her six plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Marion Harding kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Marion Harding's win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-8. As for Madison Plains, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 11-4.

Marion Harding wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 21-3 victory against Franklin Heights on the 19th. As for Madison Plains, they have also already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Greenon on the 21st.
