Darien put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 1-0 W against the Trumbull Eagles. The game was the first time the Blue Wave have beaten the Eagles on their field since April 12, 2017.

Vivian Knott made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 18 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one triple and one RBI.

Darien pushed their record up to 9-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Trumbull, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.

Darien didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 11-2 loss against Amity Regional on the 1st. Trumbull has also already played their next contest (against Greenwich), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
