Softball Recap: Patchogue-Medford Raiders vs. Sachem East

Patchogue-Medford lost against Sachem East back in April, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Patchogue-Medford Raiders fell just short of Sachem East by a score of 4-3. Patchogue-Medford has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

For Sachem East's part, Olivia Derose made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out nine batters over eight innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Derose has been consistent recently: she hasn't pitched less than seven innings in four consecutive pitching appearances. Derose was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sloane Bassett, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI and a double.
