Football Recap: Life Waxahachie Falls to Van Alstyne in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Life Waxahachie unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They were beaten by the Van Alstyne Panthers 54-13 on Friday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it 11 in a row.

Although Life Waxahachie took the loss, they still got scores from Kamarion Pearson and Da'Corey Jackson.

Dylan Barron was nothing short of spectacular for Van Alstyne: he threw for 313 yards and three touchdowns while completing 77.8% of his passes, and also rushed for 67 yards and one score on only nine carries.

Coming up, Life Waxahachie will hit the road for the first time this season to square off against Canton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Van Alstyne, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Alvarado at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
