Softball Recap: O'fallon Sets Scoring Season-High Against East St. Louis

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask O'Fallon). They blew past the East St. Louis Flyers 21-1 on Friday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 15-0 last Wednesday.

Kennedy Clark made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Clark was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in both of her plate appearances with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Ali Frickleton was incredible, going 4-for-5 with three RBI and two runs. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Haylee Williams, who went 2-for-3 with four runs.

O'Fallon hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 5-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.

The win made it two in a row for O'Fallon and bumps their season record up to 12-15. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.5 runs over those games. As for East St. Louis, they are on a 16-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-16.

O'Fallon didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, an 18-11 loss against Mascoutah on the 19th. As for East St. Louis, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 14-0 defeat against Alton on the 20th.
