Softball Preview: Athens Christian Eagles vs. George Walton Academy Bulldogs        
        
		
             Athens Christian is on a three-game streak of home wins, while George Walton Academy is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Athens Christian Eagles will host the George Walton Academy Bulldogs  at 4:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
 Athens Christian is headed in fresh off scoring the most  runs they have all season. They put the hurt on The King's Academy with a sharp  22-1 victory on Thursday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Eagles with their most commanding win of the  season.
  Paisley Perry made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She  pitched two innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   two  hits. Perry was also big at the plate,  going 1-for-2 with two  RBI.
 In other batting news, Athens Christian got a  massive  performance out of  Blair Carter, who  went 3-for-4 with two  stolen bases, two  runs, and a  triple. Another player making a difference was  Harper Westbrook, who  scored four  runs and  stole two bases while going 1-for-3.
 Meanwhile, George Walton Academy made easy work of Tallulah Falls  on Thursday and carried off  a  19-1 win.
 Like Athens Christian, George Walton Academy also got a great game from a two-way player:  Kendall Woodbury. On the mound, she  pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off   three  hits. That's the most  strikeouts  Woodbury has posted since  back in October of 2023. She was also stellar in the batter's box,  scoring a  run while going 2-for-2.
 In other batting news,  Leila Mathis was  incredible,  going 2-for-2 with a  home run, five  RBI, and three  runs. Another player making a difference was  Demere Gray, who  scored three  runs and  stole a base while going 1-for-2.
 Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, George Walton Academy  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .719. That's a new  trend for them: their average  OBP was 0% earlier this season, but in their last five matchups they've averaged 59%.
 Athens Christian's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for George Walton Academy, their win bumped their record up to 9-4.
