Football Recap: North Gaston Wildcats vs. Kings Mountain Mountaineers
Friday just wasn't the day for North Gaston's offense. They had to suffer through a 65-0 loss at the hands of the Kings Mountain Mountaineers. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 274th, while the Mountaineers are ranked 40th).
Kings Mountain found their leader in sophomore KJ Bell, who threw for 170 yards and five TDs while completing 76.9% of his passes, and also punched in one rushing score. Those five passing touchdowns set a new season-high mark for Bell. Khareem Coleman helped Bell out on the ground, rushing for 123 yards and one score on only 13 carries.
North Gaston is on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6. As for Kings Mountain, their victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1.

That contest will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Keldon Williams and Kaveaun Pless.
