Wheatmore extends road losing streak to ten

Recap: Wheatmore Warriors vs. Randleman Tigers

The Wheatmore Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight loss. They took a hard 50-36 fall against Randleman. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Wheatmore has scored all season.

Wheatmore's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Robert Nyamongo, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. Those ten rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Finley Bryant, who scored ten points along with three steals.

Randleman got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Connor Cassidy out in front who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. Those 11 points set a new season-high mark for him. Jireh Price was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.

Wheatmore bumped their record down to 1-8 with that defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Randleman, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wheatmore will take on Trinity at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Trinity presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Wheatmore in North Carolina (Trinity is ranked 183rd, while Wheatmore is ranked 566th). As for Randleman, they will head out on the road to face off against Ledford at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
