Baseball Recap: St. Joseph's Prep Triumphs

St. Joseph's Prep hadn't done well against Father Judge recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Hawks walked away with an 8-4 win over the Crusaders. This was payback for the Hawks, who suffered an 8-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Eddie Dingle looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up a single earned run in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Robby Grasso was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. St. Joseph's Prep is 5-1 when Grasso posts two or more runs, but 3-8 otherwise. Emilio Iannaccone also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

St. Joseph's Prep's victory bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Father Judge, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Joseph's Prep will host Hill School at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Father Judge, they will welcome Franklin Towne at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
