Soccer Game Preview: Gallatin vs. Beech

The Gallatin Green Wave are taking a road trip to square off against the Beech Buccaneers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Gallatin had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the three-goal drubbing they dealt White House-Heritage on Monday. The Green Wave never let the Patriots get on the board and left with a 3-0 win. Given Gallatin's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee soccer rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while White House-Heritage are ranked 250th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Beech). They put the hurt on White House with a sharp 8-0 victory on Monday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

The victory (which was Beech's third in a row) raised their record to 6-4-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three matchups. As for Gallatin, their victory bumped their record up to 8-5.

Gallatin might still be hurting after the 4-1 defeat they got from Beech in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Green Wave avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
