Sullinger Leads Ohio Red to Boo Williams Win

Future Buckeye delivers big in Hampton; Gilchrist spectacular for Team Final.

MaxPreps All-American Jared Sullinger paced Ohio Red to a 75-72 victory over Team Final in the 17-and-under championship game of the prestigious Boo Williams Invitational Sunday in Hampton, Va.

The powerful 6-foot-9, 253-pound junior dominated with 22 points and 18 rebounds, making 9-of-18 shots from the field and 4-of-5 from the free throw line.

Six-foot-seven MaxPreps All-American Michael Gilchrist, a sophomore, paced Team Final with 27 points on 11-of-15 from the field, grabbed 10 rebounds and blocked three shots. In the semifinals Gilchrist drilled a half-court shot with no time left to beat Boo Williams, 64-61.

The Houston Defenders – a team of eighth graders, paced by 6-5 twins Aaron and Andrew Harrison – captured the 15-and-under crown with a 66-58 victory over Team Takeover. The talented twins combined for 27 points.
