Football Game Preview: Bethpage Golden Eagles vs. South Side Cyclones + Official Tickets

The Bethpage Golden Eagles will face off against the South Side Cyclones at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Bethpage sitting on three straight victories and South Side on five.

Bethpage is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Floral Park Memorial 35-6. The result was nothing new for the Golden Eagles, who have now won five matchups by 21 points or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, South Side narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Elmont Memorial 9-6. Given the Cyclones' advantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 142nd, while the Spartans are ranked 305th) , the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Bethpage's victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for South Side, their win bumped their record up to 7-2.

Bethpage didn't have too much breathing room in their game against South Side when the teams last played back in October, but they still walked away with an 8-2 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Golden Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
