Brazosport has gone 7-2 against Wharton recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Brazosport Exporters will welcome the Wharton Tigers at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Brazosport is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 65 points on Friday, they were much more limited against La Marque on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a 72-29 loss at the hands of the Cougars. The match marked the Exporters' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Wharton came up short against Bay City on Tuesday and fell 57-50.

Brazosport will need focus on slowing down Javien Smith, one of several Wharton players who made an impact when they last played. He posted ten points and seven rebounds. That's the most boards Smith has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jameir Hearne-Robinson, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 boards.

Even though they lost, Wharton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in seven consecutive games.

Brazosport's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-8. As for Wharton, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 16-9 record this season.

Brazosport was able to grind out a solid win over Wharton in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, winning 70-63. Does Brazosport have another victory up their sleeve, or will Wharton turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
