Basketball Recap: Philadelphia Military Academy Takes a Loss

If Philadelphia Military Academy was feeling good fresh off their 47-22 takedown of Randolph Vo-Tech last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Philadelphia Military Academy Knights were outmatched by KIPP DuBois Collegiate Academy and fell 70-41. The Knights haven't had much luck with KIPP DuBois Collegiate Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Philadelphia Military Academy lost on Tuesday despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Daijon Crawford, who posted 11 points. Another player making a difference was Wahhaj Cheeks, who put up 11 points.

KIPP DuBois Collegiate Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Mekhi Anderson out in front who shot 4-for-5 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. The matchup was Anderson's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Ralim Brown was another key player, going 7 for 12 en route to 15 points in addition to eight boards and six steals.

Philadelphia Military Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for KIPP DuBois Collegiate Academy, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Philadelphia Military Academy will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on Swenson Arts & Tech at 3:15 p.m. on January 22nd. As for KIPP DuBois Collegiate Academy, they will face off against Jules E. Mastbaum Vo-Tech at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Jules E. Mastbaum Vo-Tech is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.6 points per game this season.
