Recap: Broadwater Academy Vikings vs. Holly Grove Christian
The Broadwater Academy Vikings's five-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 61-43 victory over Holly Grove Christian. Broadwater Academy's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Rufus Abbott had an outrageously good game as he scored 21 points along with nine steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Noah Pruitt, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds.
Broadwater Academy's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-5. As for Holly Grove Christian, they bumped their record down to 0-8 with that loss, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Broadwater Academy will square off against Isle of Wight Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Isle of Wight Academy comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Holly Grove Christian, they will head out on the road to square off against Calvary Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Calvary Christian Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Holly Grove Christian in their respective states (Calvary Christian Academy is ranked 58th in Delaware, while Holly Grove Christian is ranked 306th in Maryland).
