Soccer Recap: Cleburne County Comes Up Short

Cleburne County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the Weaver Bearcats. Cleburne County were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Weaver apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Cleburne County's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11-1. As for Weaver, they pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Cleburne County will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Anniston at 5:00 p.m. on April 8. As for Weaver, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Weaver face off against Saks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. They will be up against Saks' rather soft defense (which has allowed five goals per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
