Football Recap: Rank Disadvantage No Problem for Garrard County

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lexington Catholic, Garrard County was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Bardstown Tigers 35-32. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Golden Lions' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky football rankings (they are ranked 143rd, while the Tigers are ranked 48th).

Garrard County's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-3. As for Bardstown, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 6-2.

Garrard County will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Mercer County at 7:30 p.m. on the 24th. As for Bardstown, they will welcome Lexington Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Knights will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last.
