Football Recap: Sevier County Smoky Bears vs. Carter Green Hornets        
        
		
             Sevier County  took care of business in their home opener  on Friday (and then some). They blew past the Carter Green Hornets 49-13 at home. With the Smoky Bears ahead  28-7 at the half, the  contest was all but over already.
  Tegan Avera went supernova for Sevier County, rushing for 163 yards and three touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of  Cooper Newman, who threw for 209 yards and two touchdowns while completing 77.3% of his passes.
 Despite the loss, Carter still got an impressive performance from   Joseph Armenta, who rushed for 122 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries. Armenta's longest rush was for an impressive 55 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.
 Sevier County will be playing at home against Jefferson County  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. The two teams are at an even 4-4 against one another  since October of 2014. As for Carter, they will look to take advantage of their home-field for the first time this season as they take on Austin-East  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday.
