Soccer Game Preview: North Mac vs. Greenville

North Mac hasn't had much luck against Greenville recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Panthers will welcome the Comets at 5:00 p.m. North Mac has given up an average of 5.3 goals per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

North Mac fell victim to Staunton and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They lost 9-0 to the Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, North Mac can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 373rd, while Staunton are ranked 60th).

Meanwhile, Greenville waltzed into their game on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was the Comets who were credited with the win. Greenville got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to Centralia's three. Tinley Walker had the honor of scoring the game-winner for Greenville.

Greenville pushed their record up to 9-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 14 goals over those four matches. As for North Mac, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-11-1.
