Football Recap: Bleckley County Royals vs. Southwest Patriots
After flying high against East Laurens last Friday, Bleckley County came back down to earth. The Bleckley County Royals and the Southwest Patriots were almost perfectly matched up on Thursday, but the Bleckley County Royals suffered a 30-29 defeat. The Royals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Patriots apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2021.
Bleckley County's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Southwest, the win snapped their losing streak at four games dating back to last season and leaves them with a 1-3 record.
Bleckley County will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Washington County at 7:30 p.m. on September 20th. As for Southwest, they will have plenty of time to enjoy the victory as they don't play again for a while. They'll take on Central at 5:30 p.m. on September 20th.
