Preview: Fort Collins Lambkins vs. Loveland Red Wolves
The Fort Collins Lambkins will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Loveland Red Wolves at 6:30 p.m. Fort Collins knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine matchups -- so hopefully Loveland likes a good challenge.
Even though Monarch scored an imposing 69 points on Tuesday, Fort Collins still came out on top. Fort Collins took down Monarch 86-69.
Jayce King was his usual excellent self, scoring 41 points. That makes it 12 consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Fort Collins' points. Another player making a difference was Jackson Folkestad, who scored 16 points.
Loveland suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Horizon at home and fell 66-37. Loveland has not had much luck with Horizon recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Fort Collins has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. As for Loveland, their defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-8.
Everything went Fort Collins' way against Loveland in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 as Fort Collins made off with a 65-42 victory. With Fort Collins ahead 37-14 at the half, the match was all but over already.
