Basketball Recap: Huntington Beach Comes Up Short

Huntington Beach was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 61-45 bruising from the Newport Harbor Sailors. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Oilers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 63-54 on January 3rd.

Huntington Beach's defeat dropped their record down to 11-14. As for Newport Harbor, their win bumped their record up to 16-9.

Huntington Beach and Newport Harbor could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Huntington Beach will challenge Corona del Mar at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday down 266 places (342 vs. 76). Meanwhile, Newport Harbor (ranked 185th) will meet Los Alamitos (ranked 39th) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
