Baseball Game Preview: Paraclete Spirits vs. Adelanto Saints

The Paraclete Spirits will head out on the road to face off against the Adelanto Saints at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Paraclete is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.

Paraclete proved they can win big last Wednesday (they won by seven) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They never let South Pasadena get on the board and left with a 1-0 win.

Not much got past Cole Mercier, who gave up just a hit to keep South Pasadena off the board. Paraclete is undefeated when Mercier allows one or fewer hits, but 9-13 otherwise.

At the plate, Paraclete's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Abraham Perez, who went 3-for-4 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Adelanto was not the first on the board on Friday, but they got there more often. They had just enough and edged out Victor Valley 5-4. The win continues a trend for the Saints in their matchups with the Jackrabbits: they've now won nine in a row.

Adelanto's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-11. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.2 runs over those games. As for Paraclete, their victory bumped their record up to 12-13.

Paraclete couldn't quite finish off Adelanto when the teams last played back in March of 2022 and fell 3-1. Can the Spirits avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
