Softball Recap: Northwestern Comes Up Short

After flying high against Catholic Central on Thursday, Northwestern came back down to earth. The Warriors lost 9-1 to the Kenton Ridge Cougars on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Warriors in their meetings with the Cougars: they've now lost six in a row.

Northwestern saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sophia Pamer, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Northwestern's defeat dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Kenton Ridge, they pushed their record up to 25-0 with the win, which was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season.

Northwestern and Kenton Ridge should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Warriors will take on Springfield at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday with a big rank advantage (167 vs. 408). Meanwhile, Kenton Ridge (ranked second) will meet Arcanum (ranked 156th) at 5:15 p.m. on Monday.
