Baseball Recap: Red Boiling Springs Comes Up Short

Red Boiling Springs had lost ten straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 1-18 to make it 11. They lost 22-0 to the Monroe County Falcons. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-1 back in March.

As for Monroe County, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-7. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Monroe County's part, Noah Hagan was a standout: he went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Hagan has posted since back in March. Brison Nuckols was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and two runs.

Coming up, Red Boiling Springs is taking a road trip to take on Trousdale County at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs are facing the Yellowjackets at the right time seeing as the Yellowjackets are stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Monroe County, they will welcome Cumberland County at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
