League recap: Atascadero scores huge upset over St. Joseph

The biggest upset of the week belonged to St. Joseph, who took down 72nd ranked St. Joseph, 28-24.

Atascadero moved up to 147 from 214 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Pac-7. The Greyhounds were able to make move up by defeating the Knights 28-24.

Michael Jordano was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 15 carries, he ran for 96 yards as Arroyo Grande defeated Righetti. Teammate Elijah Holt added to the ground attack by rushing for 76 yards.

Rivera was the best wideout in the league this week as the Eagles bested the Warriors. Rivera racked up eight receptions for 114 yards. Sean St. Denis helped Arroyo Grande's passing attack out by catching one ball for 26 yards.

Matt Willkomm provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Arroyo Grande defeated Righetti. He completed 13 passes for 172 yards and two touchdowns and also ran for 38 yards.

Curry Parham put up the best numbers through the air as St. Joseph fell to Atascadero. He finished with a total of 11 completions for 173 yards and two touchdowns. Parham's favorite target this week was Zak Karsh, who caught four passes for 53 yards.

Gary Wilson's team's Troy Prober and Luke Wilson have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Pac-7 in both passing and receiving yards. Prober has thrown for 1830 yards this season, while Wilson, a 5-foot-11 receiver, has 55 catches for 842 yards. Paso Robles's Colton Madrigal leads the league in rushing yards with 897.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Tom Goossen's team takes on the Bearcats. The Eagles are currently in second, while Paso Robles is in fourth.

Vic Cooper's team and Dustin Davis' team played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Vic Cooper's team eventually emerging with a 28-24 victory.
