Lakyn Matchett was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Van Vleck let Adia Kile and Kylie Sazera run wild. Kile scored a run while going 2-for-3, while Sazera scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Alexa Zuniga was another key player, getting on base in three of her six plate appearances with one RBI.
