Baseball Recap: Five Straight Home Wins for Baylor

Baylor got themselves on the board against Knoxville Catholic on Tuesday, but Knoxville Catholic never followed suit. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Fighting Irish, sneaking past 1-0. The Red Raiders haven't had any issues with the Fighting Irish recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

The result came thanks to Matt Dill's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up 13 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Baylor's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Mac Morris, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Baylor hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Knoxville Catholic struck out 13 times.

Baylor's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-5. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games. As for Knoxville Catholic, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-12-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Baylor will challenge Bowling Green at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Knoxville Catholic, they will take on West at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
