Western Missouri recap Oct. 3, 2012

Adrian's Austin Corley rumbled for the longest rushing play in Western Missouri this season in his game against Appleton City last week. Corley scampered for 56 yards on the play and finished with 100 on the day as his team defeated the Bulldogs.

Adrian extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Appleton City, 35-6. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.

Calvin Romi put up the best numbers through the air as Archie lost to Osceola. He finished with four completions for 24 yards and one touchdown. Romi's favorite target this week was Boston Dickerson, who caught two passes for 18 yards.

Driston Self provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Indians defeated the Whirlwinds. He completed five passes for 134 yards and also ran for 162 yards. Self's favorite target this week was Dallas Self, who caught three passes for 77 yards.

Logan Tallman was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 15 carries, he ran for 179 yards as the Blackhawks bested Archie.

Osceola's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Indians feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Self has thrown for 642 yards and four touchdowns this season, while Self has 10 catches for 202 yards. Self also leads the league in rushing with 548 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Paul Carney's team takes on Adrian. The Indians are currently in fourth, while the Blackhawks are in third.

There should be lots of points scored when Osceola and Adrian face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Indians comes in having scored 158 this season, while the Blackhawks have scored 109. Osceola scored 53 points last week as it topped Michael Toschi's team.

The Indians made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 11,649 from 12,256. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 53-12 victory over the Whirlwinds last week.
