Recap: Idaho City Wildcats vs. Notus Pirates
The Idaho City Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They took a 56-38 bruising from Notus. Idaho City lost against Notus in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 51-22 score last time.
It was another big night for Allison Grandeen, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 13 rebounds for Notus. Those 13 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. Lesley Martinez was another key contributor, scoring five points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Idaho City has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Notus, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Idaho City will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Wilder at 6:30 p.m. on January 12, 2024. Notus will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Liberty Charter at 6:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024.
