Baseball Game Preview: Scott Eagles vs. Conner Cougars

Scott hasn't had much luck against Conner recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Eagles will venture away from home to face off against the Cougars at 5:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Scott's last matchup with Ryle could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Tuesday. The Eagles came up short against the Raiders, falling 11-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Eagles have suffered since April 24th.

St. Henry hit Conner with a five-run seventh inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Cougars fell just short of the Crusaders by a score of 9-8.

Max Brunkel made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Grayson Wagner, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Conner's loss dropped their record down to 18-15. As for Scott, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-17.

Scott couldn't quite finish off Conner in their previous meeting back in March and fell 7-5. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
