Volleyball Recap: Covenant Day Takes a Loss

Covenant Day lost against North Raleigh Christian Academy back in October of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Lions lost 3-0 to the Knights.

While Covenant Day had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 19 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-19, 25-21.

Olivia Huneycutt paced Covenant Day's offense, picking up nine kills. Huneycutt got some help from Maggie Shannon and her 11 assists. Shannon was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Covenant Day's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for North Raleigh Christian Academy, their victory was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-4.

Covenant Day wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against Durham Academy on the 6th. As for North Raleigh Christian Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-1 defeat against Charlotte Latin on the 6th.
