Soccer Recap: Gilbert Comes Up Short

Gilbert lost against Highland back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Gilbert Tigers lost 4-0 to the Highland Hawks. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona soccer rankings (they are ranked 106th, while the Hawks are ranked fifth).

Gilbert's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-13-3. As for Highland, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.

Gilbert does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Highland, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Highland challenge the Catalina Foothills at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Highland's favor is that they have posted at least four goals in their last seven matches.
