Volleyball Recap: Emerald Comes Up Short

Emerald lost against Westside back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Vikings lost 3-0 to the Rams. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-15, 25-20.

Lauren Thomas paced Emerald's offense, picking up eight kills. Thomas got some help from Emily Erskine and her 21 assists. Abby Wright controlled things from the service line, finishing with seven aces.

Emerald's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Westside, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6-1 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Emerald is set to face off against their familiar foe Southside at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Westside will take on rival Fountain Inn at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
