While Abbott's win against Mart wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Abbott skirted past Mart 4-3. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Abbott as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
Abby Neill was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off nine hits (and not a single walk). Neill was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.
Neill wasn't the only one making solid contact as eight players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Maddie Svacina, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits Svacina has posted since back in April of 2024.
Abbott's win bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Mart, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-11.
