After losing to Gordon-Rushville the last time they met, Newell decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Irrigators sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Mustangs on Saturday.

Newell's win bumped their record up to 8-14. As for Gordon-Rushville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season.
