Volleyball Recap: Wekiva Has No Trouble Against Evans

Wekiva's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Evans Trojans with a sharp 3-0 win. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Wekiva was: they took every set by at least 19 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-3, 25-6, 25-6.

Isabella Espada was a one-woman wrecking crew as she had 16 assists and nine aces. Those nine aces gave her a new career-high.

Espada wasn't the only good server: Wekiva was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 26 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces every time they've taken the court this season.

The victory got Wekiva back to even at 4-4. As for Evans, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-8.

Wekiva didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Dr. Phillips on the 17th. As for Evans, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Edgewater on the 18th.
